Communities Thrive @ Your Library
April 10 through 17
Fountaindale Public Library is celebrating National Library Week . The theme? You guessed it! Communities Thrive @ Your Library. First we’ll kick it off with an Illinois Author Fair this Saturday, April 10 from 11am to 3pm. Adult, young adult and children’s authors will be on hand to sign copies of their books. Readers will have an opportunity to speak with the authors and purchase signed copies! Our featured author will be Luis Urrea, author of Into the Beautiful North which was choses as part of the Great Read program. A representative from Barnes & Nobles will also be there to sell authors’ works.
But that’s not all…
The Children’s Department will have a different craft based on this year’s theme. Just drop in each day from April 10 to the 17, flex your creativity and put your talent to good use!
The Annual Food for Fines Drive will also be taking place during the week. Bring in canned or non-perishable food items and have your overdue fines waived! Please bring unexpired food in the approximate amount that you owe. This program does not apply to lost or credit items.
The conclusion of National Library week will feature a performance by One Drum, an eclectic world music ensemble which performs songs, stories and dances rooted in the cultures of Africa, the Caribbean, Australia, the Middle East and the Americas. This exciting event will be on Saturday, April 17 at 2pm at the Bolingbrook Park District Annerino Center.
We hope you will join us for this week of celebrating communities thriving at your library!
