Here is an interesting article from the Associated Press via Yahoo! News about how employers are increasingly asking for access to your online social media presences, include Facebook and Twitter.
You probably shouldn’t discount other ones either, like FourSquare, LinkedIn, or even personal e-mail accounts.
Until employment law catches up, there is nothing stopping employers for asking you for this information. So be sure to keep your social media presences professional.
My rule of thumb is if I don’t want my mother to see it, then I don’t post it.
Do you have any rules of thumb you follow? Have you encountered a prospective employer asking for your logins or passwords? What have you done, or what would you do?
